Master Auto CAD to Design Precision Engineering Projects(6-Week Intensive)

Course Duration: 6 Weeks

Mentorship: Industry experts from top tech companies will guide you throughout the course.

Mode of Learning: Online, Self-paced + Weekly Live Sessions

Week 1: Introduction to AutoCAD & 2D Drafting

  • Introduction to AutoCAD: Overview of AutoCAD interface, commands, workspaces, and basic settings. Understanding coordinate systems (absolute, relative, polar).
  • 2D Drawing Tools: Mastering drawing commands (lines, circles, arcs, polylines, etc.), object snaps, and coordinate input methods.
  • Basic Drafting Techniques: Creating and modifying objects, using layers, setting units and limits, and working with text and dimensions.
  • Project 1: Basic 2D Drawing: Create a simple 2D drawing of a mechanical part or architectural plan, applying basic drafting techniques.

Outcome: Foundational knowledge of AutoCAD and 2D drafting principles, ability to create basic 2D drawings.

Week 2: Advanced 2D Drafting & Annotation

  • Advanced Drawing Commands: Exploring advanced drawing tools (hatching, gradients, blocks, layouts) and techniques for creating complex geometries.
  • Annotation and Dimensioning: Creating accurate dimensions, adding annotations, and managing text styles and dimension styles.
  • Working with Layers and Blocks: Organizing drawings using layers and creating reusable blocks for efficient design.
  • Project 2: Complex 2D Drawing: Create a more complex 2D drawing of a mechanical assembly or architectural floor plan, utilizing advanced drafting techniques and annotation.

Outcome: Proficiency in advanced 2D drafting techniques, annotation, and drawing organization.

Week 3: 3D Modeling Fundamentals

  • Introduction to 3D Modeling: Understanding 3D coordinate systems and visualization tools. Creating basic 3D solids and surfaces using extrusion, revolution, and other 3D modeling commands.
  • 3D Viewing and Navigation: Navigating in 3D space, using different viewports, and creating visual styles.
  • Project 3: Basic 3D Model: Create a simple 3D model of a mechanical part or architectural element.

Outcome: Foundational knowledge of 3D modeling concepts and ability to create basic 3D models.

Week 4: Advanced 3D Modeling

  • Solid Modeling: Creating complex 3D models using Boolean operations (union, subtraction, intersection) and solid modeling techniques.
  • Surface Modeling: Working with surfaces to create complex shapes and organic forms.
  • 3D Visualization and Rendering: Applying materials, lighting, and rendering settings to create realistic visualizations of 3D models.
  • Project 4: Complex 3D Model: Create a more complex 3D model of a product or building, utilizing advanced 3D modeling techniques.

Outcome: Proficiency in advanced 3D modeling techniques and creating realistic visualizations.

Week 5: Assembly Modeling & Documentation

  • Assembly Modeling: Creating 3D assemblies by combining individual parts. Understanding constraints and relationships between parts.
  • Creating Drawings from 3D Models: Generating 2D drawings (orthographic views, isometric views, sections, details) from 3D models.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM): Creating a bill of materials for assemblies.
  • Project 5: Assembly and Documentation: Create a 3D assembly of multiple parts and generate a complete set of 2D drawings, including a BOM.

Outcome: Ability to create 3D assemblies and generate professional engineering drawings.

Week 6: Final Project & Career Prep

  • Project 6: Final AutoCAD Project: Develop a complete AutoCAD project, from concept to detailed design and documentation, incorporating the skills learned throughout the course. Students can choose a project based on their interests, such as designing a machine component, a building floor plan, or a product design.
  • Career Preparation:
    • Portfolio Building: Refine and complete your portfolio with a professional presentation of your projects.
    • Interview Prep & Resume Tips: Learn how to showcase your skills, work on technical interview questions, and perfect your resume.
    • Industry Insights: Get advice on the latest industry trends, frameworks, and technologies.

Outcome: By the end of the course, you’ll have a strong portfolio and the confidence to apply for jobs using AutoCAD.
